In-service Training & County Agent Resources
An day-long Inservice training,
'Basic Soil Fertility, Nutrient Management and Water Quality' was held
on February 20, 2002 in Gainesville, for county extension agents from
several counties working in Agriculture, Animal, Crops, Vegetables,
Water Quality and Natural Resources . A total of 17 agents attended
the training. Extensive notes on all the topics covered, copies of the
presentations, and reference articles was distributed to the participants.
A CD-Rom with all the materials was also sent later to the trainees.
The course was rated excellent by the trainees with the request to add
more days to the training. All the participants showed willingness to
attend future courses on these topics.
The next course in Soil Testing
Procedures and Interpretations with regard to optimum crop production
and water quality protection will be during February, 2004.
